Cookie Policy

Please read this page carefully. Questions? Write to us any time — we are happy to explain.

Last updated: 19 October 2026. Effective date: 19 October 2026. This Cookie Policy explains how Dzone Ads uses cookies and similar technologies on https://dzoneads.com, which cookies are set, why they are needed and how you can control them. We keep cookies to a minimum: by default, our website uses only the cookies it needs to work, stay secure and remember your choices. This policy forms part of our Privacy Policy.

Key takeaways

  • We use only strictly necessary and functional cookies by default.
  • No analytics or advertising pixels are installed on our website by default.
  • If we add analytics or marketing tools later, they will only run after you give consent, and we will update this policy first.
  • You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser when you visit. They let the website recognise your browser on later visits or as you move between pages — for example, to remember what is in your shopping cart or that you are logged in.

Cookies can be:

  • First-party cookies — set by the website you are visiting (in this case, dzoneads.com);
  • Third-party cookies — set by another service, such as an embedded video or advertising platform;
  • Session cookies — deleted when you close your browser;
  • Persistent cookies — kept for a set period, or until you delete them.

Similar technologies include local storage and session storage (parts of your browser where websites can save small amounts of data), and pixels or tags (tiny pieces of code that send information to another service). In this policy, “cookies” includes these technologies unless we say otherwise.

2. Types of cookies

2.1 Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to work. They make the shopping cart and checkout function, keep logged-in users signed in, protect the website against attacks and remember your cookie consent choice. Because the website cannot work properly without them, they do not need your consent under most laws. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the website, such as the shop and login, will not work.

2.2 Functional cookies

Functional cookies remember choices you make to give you a more convenient experience — for example, remembering your name and email when you leave a blog comment, if you choose that option, or remembering display settings for logged-in users.

2.3 Analytics cookies

Analytics cookies help website owners understand how visitors use a site, such as which pages are popular. We do not currently use any analytics cookies. Our SEO plugin, Yoast SEO, does not set tracking cookies.

2.4 Marketing cookies

Marketing or advertising cookies and pixels are used to show relevant adverts and measure campaigns, often across different websites. We do not currently use any marketing cookies or advertising pixels, such as the Meta Pixel, on our website.

If this changes. If we decide in future to add analytics (for example, Google Analytics) or advertising pixels (for example, Meta Pixel), we will update this policy and the cookie table before they are added. These tools will be blocked by our consent banner and will only run after you choose to allow them.

3. Cookies we use

The table below lists the cookies and browser storage items our website may set. Names that end in [hash] or [ID] include a unique code generated for each site or user. Durations are typical values and may vary slightly with software updates.

Wordfence may set additional login-security cookies for administrators (for example, to recognise a trusted device). These are used only for site administrators, not ordinary visitors. Our security plugin WP Hide & Security Enhancer does not set cookies for visitors.

3.1 Third-party services

Some actions take you to, or load content from, other services that set their own cookies:

  • Payment gateways. When you pay for an order, you may be taken to a payment gateway page or shown a payment window. The gateway may set its own cookies for security, fraud prevention and to complete the payment. These are controlled by the gateway under its own policies.
  • Embedded content. If a page includes embedded content, such as a YouTube video, a map or a social media post, the provider may set cookies when that content loads. Where possible, we use privacy-enhanced embedding or load such content only after consent.
  • Social media links. Clicking a link to our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X) or LinkedIn pages takes you to those platforms, where their cookie policies apply. A plain link on our website does not set their cookies.

To help you understand what would change, the examples below show cookies that common analytics and advertising tools typically set. None of these are on our website today. If we add one of these tools, we will list its cookies in the table above and they will be blocked until you consent.

_ga, _ga_[ID]Google AnalyticsDistinguishes visitors to produce statistics about how the website is usedUp to 2 yearsAnalytics

3.3 How long cookies last

Session cookies and session storage are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay for the period shown in the table, unless you delete them sooner. Local storage items stay until they are cleared by the website or by you. You can delete all of these at any time through your browser settings (see Section 5.2).

We use strictly necessary cookies because they are needed to provide the website and services you request, such as your cart, checkout and account, and to keep the website secure. This is within our legitimate interests and, under the EU ePrivacy rules and similar laws, these cookies are exempt from consent.

For functional cookies that are not essential, and for any analytics or marketing cookies we may add in future, we rely on your consent. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the EU/UK GDPR, consent must be free, specific, informed and unambiguous, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We do not use cookies to sell personal data or to share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Some cookies, such as login and security cookies, are linked to information like your IP address or user account, which can be personal data. We handle that information as described in our Privacy Policy, including your rights to access, correct and delete it.

5.1 Using the CookieYes banner

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner provided by CookieYes asks for your choice. You can accept all, reject non-essential cookies, or choose categories using the customise option. Your choice is saved in the cookieyes-consent cookie for one year, after which we will ask again.

You can change your mind at any time. Click “Cookie Settings” in the website footer to reopen the banner, update your choices and save them. If you withdraw consent, we will stop using the cookies concerned from that point, although cookies already set may remain in your browser until they expire or you delete them.

5.2 Using your browser settings

Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies. You can usually find these options in the browser’s settings under “Privacy”, “Security” or “Cookies and site data”:

  • Google Chrome — Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies or Site settings
  • Mozilla Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari (Mac and iPhone) — Settings or Preferences › Privacy
  • Microsoft Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
  • Samsung Internet and other mobile browsers — look for Privacy or Site data in the browser menu

Menu names change between versions, so check your browser’s help pages if you cannot find the setting. If you block all cookies, our shop, checkout and login may not work, and the cookie banner may appear on every visit because it cannot remember your choice. Clearing cookies will also remove your saved consent choice.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Do Not Track (DNT) is a browser setting that asks websites not to track you. There is no agreed industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Because our website does not use tracking cookies by default, there is currently no tracking for a DNT signal to switch off.

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a newer signal that tells websites you do not want your personal data sold or shared. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising. If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will configure our consent banner to treat a GPC signal as a choice to opt out of those tools, where the consent tool supports it.

7. Children

Our website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly use cookies to collect information from children or to target them with advertising.

8. Updates to this policy

We will update this Cookie Policy when we add, remove or change cookies — for example, if we install new plugins, update the shop, or add analytics or advertising tools. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the policy last changed. Where a change requires your consent, the cookie banner will ask you again.
