DCC (Darimees Central Council), a notable association in Kerala and the alumni body of Jamia Darussalam Nandi, Kozhikode, Kerala, India, has released its new calligraphic logo. The logo was released by Syed Haidar Ali Shihab Thangal Panakkad. We at Dzone Ads are proud to have designed it.
About the Darimees Central Council
The Darimees Central Council brings together the alumni of Jamia Darussalam Nandi in Kozhikode. As a notable association in Kerala, it needed an identity that could represent its members with dignity and be used consistently across its communications.
A Calligraphic Identity
For an association rooted in a respected educational institution, a calligraphic logo is a natural choice. Calligraphy carries a sense of heritage, scholarship and craftsmanship that a generic symbol cannot match. At the same time, it has to work as a modern logo — clear on a mobile screen, sharp on printed letterheads and recognisable on banners and stage backdrops.
When we design calligraphic logos, we focus on a few principles:
- Balance: the strokes should form a harmonious, well-proportioned shape.
- Legibility: the form should remain readable and recognisable, even at small sizes.
- Versatility: the mark should work in full colour, single colour and on dark or light backgrounds.
- Meaning: the style should reflect the values and character of the organisation.
